Kittilä Airport (55 km) and Kolari train station (40 km) are easily reachable by public transport or car, making your arrival and exploration effortless. 

We offer airport or train station transfers upon request. Please contact us in advance to book your transportation. Renting your own car is also possible at Kittilä Airport.

Yes. Each villa at Riekko Lodge is equipped with a standard outdoor power outlet, and dedicated electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are conveniently located near the reception and restaurant building.

Yes, all villas are equipped with Smart TVs.

Yes. The ski tracks in Äkäslompolo are located close to Riekko Lodge, offering easy access to the surrounding fells and beautiful natural scenery. It’s also possible to rent cross-country skis directly from us.

The nearest slopes are only 9km away, located in Äkäslompolo side at Ylläs Ski Resort North. The South side of Ylläs Ski Resort is also accessible, on the other side of the fell and through the lifts from North side.

We recommend making a reservation to ensure availability at your preferred time, especially during busy periods. Reservations can be easily made online here.

Yes, you do have a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights at Riekko Lodge. Riekko Lodge is located far from major light pollution and surrounded by peaceful Arctic nature—conditions that are ideal for observing the Northern Lights. The auroras are typically visible from late September to April, whenever the sky is dark and clear.

Pets are only allowed in some of our villas. Availability for pet-friendly accommodation must be confirmed in advance. A pet fee of €100 per stay applies. Please contact us at the time of booking to ensure availability of a pet-friendly villa. 

At Riekko Lodge, you can rent winter clothing for both adults and children, and conveniently add the rental to your booking in advance. For adults, the set includes a high-quality, very warm jacket, trousers, boots, and gloves. For children, we offer warm snowsuit, and for babies, footmuffs for strollers are also available.

In addition, we rent cross-country skis, snowshoes, and sliding snowshoes on-site.

The villa features a fully equipped kitchen designed to make cooking both effortless and enjoyable. You will find everything you need — from a stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher to a complete set of tableware and a wide selection of cookware, including pots, pans, and essential utensils. Whether you are preparing a simple lunch or a full dinner, the kitchen is ready for it all. To enhance your experience, a capsule coffee machine, kettle, and a complimentary coffee and tea set are also provided. In short, the kitchen offers all the comforts of home, giving you the freedom to create and savor meals at your own pace in a beautiful setting.
