Far up here in Finnish Lapland, beyond the Arctic Circle, near Ylläs and Äkäslompolo, willow grouses – ‘riekko’ in Finnish – thrive.
We named Riekko Lodge after them, because like these adorable little birds, our guests spend their days adventuring, eating, resting, and laughing, surrounded by the wild beauty of the Arctic.

Nestled among Arctic pines on a gentle slope, our 28 standalone villas blend modern design with the quiet beauty of nature. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame calming views of the fells and forests of Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park.
Inside, clean lines and natural materials create a warm, welcoming retreat. After a day outdoors, unwind in your private sauna or relax in the spacious living area as the forest light shifts outside. More than accommodation, it’s an experience of peace and connection to Lapland’s wild beauty.

Riekko Lodge is situated on a scenic hillside along the Äkäsjoki River, right next to Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park.
Although surrounded by Arctic wilderness, the village of Äkäslompolo is just 5 km away. Additionally, Kittilä Airport (55 km) and Kolari train station (40 km) are easily reachable by public transport, making your arrival and exploration effortless.

Our story
Get to know us

Riekko Lodge was born from the shared dream of three Finns who deeply love Lapland. Their vision was to create a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature while remaining close to Ylläs’ services and activities — a place to return to time after time, where every season can be savored in comfort and serenity.
The idea quickly gained momentum as like-minded Finnish investors, passionate about Lapland, joined the journey. With their support and co-funding from the European Union, Riekko Lodge became a reality.
